It's no secret that I've been raging at our loot tables for the past couple of weeks. I am really wondering at this point why some loot has so much higher drop chance then other pieces (zod's bow on lady compared to the ring, for example).
And before you go "lolnoob, loot is random", lets take a look at some of the data wowhead collected the past few months. They don't have data on heroic loot, but its safe to assume drop chances don't change depending on difficulty setting, and its a pretty big sample size.
14% drop rate on Legguards of Lost Hope compared to 31% on Frozen Bonespike and 29% on Bryntroll.
12% drop rate on Juggernaut Band compared to 32% on Nibelung and 28% on Zod's repeating longbow.
7% drop rate on Gargoyle Spit Bracers compared to 25% on both Mag'hari Chieftan's Staff and Ramaladni's Blade of Culling.
10% drop rate on Devium's Eternally Cold Ring compared to 25% on Frostbinder's Shredded Cape and 22% on Frostbrood Sapphire Ring.
