Release date is quickly closing in. 7th October.

I bought the original when it was released in EU, played through the 1.1 Bolaterian Palace then got bored because I kept dying.
Eventually I got to a point where I was so bored that I gave it another go about a year later. I must have spent about 50-60 hours in this game. While not a perfect game, one of the most enjoyable and addictive games I've played in years.

You know the game is addictive when you stand farming souls for 3 hours and end up dying to some stupid skeleton samurai and then die again before you get back to pick up your souls from where you died and then keep on farming without throwing your controller at the TV screen.

Anyway the "spiritual successor" is released on the 7th Oct and I can't wait ^____^
It is multiplayer, but no PC version I'm afraid.

Spent about 4 and half hours trying all sorts of strategies to kill the Red Wyvern (Hellkite dragon). Gave up to watch the rugby :(

Game is amazing so far, haven't had any phantom invasions yet but still don't know when you get access to the soapstone to invade others games.

17 hours spent on it now, loving it. Had some frustrating moments but always ended up with victory in the end!

Not that hard if you never give up. It's just punishing, enjoying the sense of victory you get after every challenge though.

I spent like 7 hours of pure torture on dragon slayer + executioner.
Random spouts of input lag (the game sometimes stops responding when it auto-saves only to react a few seconds later) killed me a few times, but majority of it was soul crushingly hard to manage.

This: Only I am pure melee so no cheap spells :(

I dunno if the AI is just really good in this game or I had the shittiest luck, but when the big guy charged me with his hammer and I was locked onto the dragon slayer, the dragon slayer would strafe to the opposite side of me so that I couldn't block without cancelling the lock-on.
Makes it that much harder.

Even as full melee with nearly 40 item burden worth of armor, the charge attack from the fatman just wrecks my stamina and if he managed to hit me with his hammer before the final "swing" on the charge he can one-shot me.

Also this guy:

I beat some giant wolf in the forest because I needed it's soul for a sword I was making.
Only to discover that the sword needs 18 dex 20 int and 20 faith to use. I need about 15 more levels before I can get that many stat points :I

Really tempted to restart at this point.
