Yeah but warcraft doesn't have a pissing cashshop with xp and currency boosts in it.
Can't have it both ways.

The micro-transaction shop doesn't sell anything in game that increases the power of people in any way (items/boosts/buffs) plus the leveling curve on GW2 is stable that means each level takes exactly 45 minutes to complete regardless if you're going from level 3 to level 4 or from 75 to 76.
Still buying a game once and being able to play it forever for 55 euro is a good deal.Given the fact that the expansions altho needed in most games (WoW i.e since it makes your level cap higher) to keep playing properly GW2 you can maintain the original game only since the expasions are just massive content/missions (quests) releases that don't require you to buy them at all if you don't want to.

From reliable sources it's probably at 20th of April since A-Net announced at some twitter a while back at 27th is the anniversary for Guild Wars 1 and they definately don't want to put GW2 in it as well, meaning it's either at 20th or 21st. Hope that helped

I bought it yesterday. Still iffy about the price though, I know looking for more money is what companies do but if you are confident in your product why pre-sell it for nearly double the price of a normal game.
Even the pre-sell --> beta was a bit iffy to me, but I can understand that is them trying to make money off the beta signup hype.
It just gives me horrible feelings that's all. If it gives them the ability to push the release date back a little and work on the game to their satisfaction then that can only be good. Too many games are rushed out these days.
