I'll be on Desolation for the retail also.

Got up to 17 as ele, it's a lot of fun.
Only skills I haven't unlocked is offhand focus. Been using staff mostly for dem fireballs.

Game is good, a little unoptimised and the xp rate is a little slower than I'd like but as a package it's a great game that just needs some fine tuning.

I've only preordered a few days ago and got my first play of the beta weekend. Love it so far, it plays like its own mmo rather than another WoW clone, and it looks amazing.

I hope there is room to optimise it more, as at the moment I get about 8 to 14 fps in cities and anywhere with a bit of player traffic... otherwise it might be PC upgrade time.

I went up to level 24 (almost 25) fairly easily and quite quick.Barely played more than 15 hours in total due to GF.

Only problem i had with the game was it's not optimized yet for GPU and if it stays with CPU heavy usage i'm going to have a problem personally
since my GPU is top notch but my CPU sucks monkeyballs.

Played a bit with Xelo and i chatted with Starhowl as well. The server Desolation seems to be where my clan will be rolling @ release as well and it seemed quite nice so far with the community,i got helped a lot when i was downed after typing at the local channel for a ress.

Apart that game looks amazing so far really smooth fights, some bad moments for me in PvP vs Elementalists but with experience comes better gameplay.

Yeah, I liked desolation myself. No clans to speak of unless I can shack up with you since I'm an anti-social prick for the most part.

I found a real dead spot for xp around lvl 17-19, I think if it stays the way it is, I'll have to switch to other races leveling areas to make up the gap. Running around doing events is a little lame when you have no idea where or when it'll be and that seemed to be the only way to gain xp via pve without dungeons. When live hits I guess I can pvp to fill in the gaps.

I also never saw the swamp event in the human lands. Kind of bummed about that.

Something I wasn't expect was the lack of weapon swap on elementalist. I thought all classes had it, but I guess that is more than made up for in the fact that you have 4 attunements to swap through.

You played Human I guess? As Norn around L10 there was a World Event in de Frozen Maw. Was alot of fun, reminded me of Rift. Though I would guess those events would get more or less stale after 3 times.

I saw the norn one, it was the svanir champion thing.
I saw it when I came to norn lands to play with doriq and then the server started being gay and we couldn't chat properly or group because it said we were both in a group.

Fun times ^__________^

Also: Something I love a lot, the game doesn't punish you for helping other players. It in fact encourages it, you help other players kill things and you get more quest completion faster. No mob tagging or any other bullshit, all the drops are yours etc. I love that part of this game, if nothing else I hope wow follows suit on that, would make it a better game.

Yeah, I like how being nice and helping others is actually optimal! GW2 could end up being the most sociable MMO ever.

Regarding your clan thing i can probably get you in the one i am as Social i guess on release.
Regarding the Events the hardest event i encountered was the Icy "Troll" Giant one (can't remember the name) when we had roughlt 75 people in the area to do the quest he suddenly scaled up to fuckloads and he ended up gaining a shockwave ability that kept obliterating me 24/7.The event was for level 24 afaik.

But it seemed quite nice to play and i'd love if more Crabbies wanted to join me and Xelo in this game (since i hope i can convince you to play more of that Xelo next time :P)
