Clearly hardcore, can heat food while raiding without even moving away from the computer. |

hmm maybe i should have bought a larger ssd, mine is 64gb and with windows 7 and wow installed on it i have 6gb of free space left. With cataclysm i bet wow will take even more space. Is there some limit to how little free space you can have before it affects the performance? seems weird that the os and wow take up so much space although the properties of the folders says they only take up 44gb on the disk. any recommendations? |

did you remove the cache and data/cache folders from wow? there's usually a lot of leftover crap in there from the new launcher/downloading system. can also be that there's some big hidden files like pagefile, hibernation file, system restore, etc. those can be moved to diff drives. |

WoW itself is by over 20gb now so i guess thats unavoidable. Windows takes quite a bit itself as well. But Windows also saves the swap file on c: by default called pagefile.sys. Also there could be a file for hypernate called hiberfil.sys. In addition system recory thing in Windows also saves like x% of your HDD as backup. And if i remember correctly, Windows saves some data for each (windows) patch installed in the Windows/system32 folder. - system recovery usage can be lowered or disabled - swapfile can be moved to another drive i think - hybernate can be disabled i think (energy options?) - delete Updates folder of WoW when its patched |

Skulli's post pretty much has all the info ![]() I would recommend keeping your swap file on your ssd (that's the kind of stuff you want to speed up right?), but making it a fixed size. Usually something like 4gb max should keep you out of trouble. Could even disable it or make it really small if you have tons of memory. |

Thank y'all for the advice. I disabled hibernate, reduced the size of page file (dont think it will be used much anyway with 8gb ram) and got rid of the old wow data and updates stuff. |

Just disable the pagefile. |
