Hey, Trying out video editing for the first time, and got over 250gb of files to use and mess with. My first was a short of Ascendant Council Heroic, done a basic intro with just text, then faded at the end and added some music. When I came to rendering it, I firstly chose .AVI and at 30Hz 1080p. 10 minutes later, it was finished and I played it, and the music skipped a bit, and it was also a 35GB file. I then tried as .WMV at 1080p and the audio was good, but the video seemed a little lower quality (although when it is uploaded to YouTube, it won't matter too much). Now it's only around 350mb file and of course a lot faster to upload, but is this what I should render it at? I've also got the trial version of Adobe After Effects, and I tried but as I wanted it fairly quickly due to only an hour before bed time after raid, I decided to just download the files, and i'm missing some plugin's, but I'm a little unsure where to get them from, and whether they're free :/ |

The main thing you need to know when rendering at 1920x1080 is to crop it to 1920x1072. Due to the encoding on youtube. Just follow this tutorial: http://premoguild.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6048 |

As an alternative you can use with the . Takes a bit of setting up but it doesn't have vegas' bloat. For examples of the quality, see . |

Attempt 1: Music isn't the greatest, but being a new pc I don't have much on yet. The render isnt to the settings that tanta has posted, but I'm working on it. It does seem a better quality though. |

There was music (albeit a bit repetitive lol) but it must've been taken down due to copyright crap :/ I'm trying to import an after effects intro from there but it doesn't seem to work :/ the preview works fine, but once it renders, it just has a black screen for about 1 min |

Yeah that does look so much better, I do have one rendered at 1072 and I just haven't had time to upload right now, and I don't like leaving my PC on during work either. So it will probably go up tonight, although I still want to play around with some editing, and i'm still a bit unsure why they removed the audio :/ |
