I have a legal version of Windows Vista (64 bits). I did some virus scanning with the built in windows defender, but i can't say i trust that thing for 100%.

Does anyone have a good virusscanner, or know of a proper online one? I tried the Trend Micro one but he just skipped to the results window within 15 seconds saying all was well.

Cheers.

I use NOD32. Prolly the most light weighted and non-intrusive AV there is. Works really well :>

Not free though.

background story:

I downloaded a self extracting (rar) archive and Windows Defender detected a Trojan Horse in it (can't remember the name). Windows Defender deleted / quaranteened the virus.

Paranoid as i am i don't trust Windows Defender, so i ran various virus scanners (thanks all!) and it seems to be gone :)

lesson learned: self extracting rar archives are bad mkay.

Well, they're no more worse than any other compressed file or exe file - everything in internet is out to get you, Tuned. Everything and everyone.
